Taylor Swift on dating: 'I need to sit it out for a while'

(Yahoo!) - It looks as if we won't be hearing new catchy Taylor Swift revenge songs any time soon. The country-star-turned-pop-singer graces the cover of the November issue of InStyle magazine, and she's opening up about her dating past and why she's ready to "sit it out for a while."

The 23-year-old Grammy winner admits that in the past she's been drawn to the bad boy and tells the mag, "I think it needs to change. My friends tease me about the fact that if someone seems bad or shady or like they have a secret, I find them incredibly interesting. That's just a phase I've been in lately. I don't think this should be how I proceed in life. It's important to be self-aware about these things because you don't want to end up with that guy."

But dating Hollywood bad boys has taught the "Red" singer a valuable lesson in love. She explains, "One thing I've learned that I'm proud of — drum roll, please — is when to walk away."

And while the blond beauty admits she hasn't been in a relationship "in a long time," she's still optimistic about what's in store for her future. She said, "I'd like to think if you're with the right person, you just feel great about things you've never felt great about before. At least that's how I've heard it's supposed to be. I wouldn't know."
